How to Punch Needle

Prepare your materials
Gather your punch needle tool, fabric, embroidery hoop, and yarn. Make sure your fabric is taut in the hoop.

Thread your needle
Thread the yarn through the punch needle tool following the manufacturer's instructions. Leave a tail of about 3 inches.

Secure your fabric
Place the monk's cloth in your embroidery hoop and stretch it taut and evenly for a smooth working surface

Fill your design
Continue punching in rows, keeping your stitches close together. Work from the outline inward for best results.

Finish and display
Once complete, trim any excess fabric and secure the back with glue or backing. Frame or display your finished piece!
